Raikas' Camel Dung Paper Bookmarkers
Handmade recycled paper bookmarkers, made of camel dung by the Raikas - which community and camels face now extinction. As the camels eat a very varied diet - consisting of 36 different trees, shrubs, and grasses (accoding to local knowledge), the dung paper is extremely bio-diverse! This unique paper has its own rugged character, and remember: no tree has to be cut to produce the pulp it is made from!
By choosing camel milk, wool or paper, you are helping the Raika, keeping the rural community employed, the camels relevant and the Nature sustainable.
Ethnic styles express lifestyle. They are practiced by individuals whose heritage is rooted in community rather than land, and considered cultural property.
